Crystals to Keep you Grounded



Staying grounded is incredibly important for our wellbeing. Oftentimes, we can feel a sliding scale of emotions from sadness to happiness, but too much of one thing can sometimes throw us off balance and it is in these moments that we need to ground ourselves.


There are many ways to keep your mind, body and soul grounded to the present moment, from crystals, to meditating, even going on walks or slicing out moments of stillness and calm for yourself can be a brilliant way of returning to the present moment and even dumping that which no longer serves.


Crystals resonate at a frequency much higher than our own and as such can have a visceral effect on the body, that can help with a variety of different problems, from both a physical and an emotional standpoint.


So which crystals can you use to keep you grounded? Well, there are thousands of crystals out there, it largely depends on what you're drawn to (see "How to Choose your Perfect Crystal" blog). Check out my recommendations below:

1. Sodalite


Sodalite, is definitely one of my go to's, primarily due to its calming effect on the mind, that and the way it's helped me bring order to the mountainous amount of thoughts that filter through my mind. Not only that but it helps encourage rational thought, objectivity, truth and verbalisation of feelings. Which is fantastic for people who are feeling unbalanced from a torrent of thoughts. Best of all, Sodalite helps bring emotional balance, while also calming panic attacks. It targets the whirlwind and brings you back to base.


2. Moss Agate


Moss Agate is a fantastic stone to balance emotions and helps release stress and fear based thoughts and feelings. It also encourages trust and hope in yourself, which is especially beneficial when doubts start creeping in. The two working together help provide balance to a warring mentality. Best of all, Moss Agate encourages you to see the beauty surrounding you, which makes for a fantastic stone if you are going on a walking meditation.


3. Imperial Jasper


Imperial Jasper, is fast becoming another one of my favourites, the striking colours always remind me of summer, relaxation and peaceful moments, which is exactly what this stone emanates - tranquility and wholeness. From a balancing perspective, Imperial Jasper helps support us through times of stress and change while also absorbing negativity from situations and feelings both internal and external.


4. Hematite


Often, darker stones are overlooked, however, the darker grey and black stones are the ones that typically radiate strong protective and grounding energies. Not only that, but hematite, utilises the magnetic qualities of our yin-yang energies to balance the meridians within the body and to provide a stable equilibrium between the ethereal nervous system and the physical nervous system .


5. Labradorite


Now anyone who knows me, knows that Labradorite is first up on my list and for so many reasons!!! It is known for the stone of transformation and is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects our energies, helping to banish fears and insecurities, while also helping to raise our vibration.
